Collective Hunch was commissioned by Alex Gibney's Jigsaw Productions to produce a short film about youth bull riders directed by Steve James for the 2016 Amazon series, The New Yorker Presents. We had 5 months to cast, shoot, edit, and deliver the film.
We felt it was important to tell the story of youth bull riding from the perspective of the children who ride. Produced for The New Yorker Presents - Amazon's first documentary series, based on The New Yorker magazine - the film portrays two kids and their families participating in the incredible sport of youth bull riding.
